Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) include a broad range of technological solutions designed to improve the efficiency, safety, and reliability of the public transportation network. These systems encompass real-time passenger information systems, automated vehicle location (AVL) systems, CCTV, communications network and a Traffic Management Centre.
The objective of the ITS systems is to enable communication between operators, vehicles, and infrastructure with the goal of managing schedules, optimising routes, and enhancing the user experience.
