Strategic planning for a sustainable and efficient public transport future in Durban.
A public transport system design was developed for the Integrated Public Transport Network in the eThekwini region, known as the wall-to-wall plan. It incorporates all rail and road transport and integrates existing public transport nodes, phasing of the programme’s implementation and identifies supporting elements such as integrated fare management and intelligent transport systems.
The Network wall-to-wall plan comprises of eight road-based routes and one rail route supported by feeder and complementary services and non-motorised transport routes. The phasing of route implementation is based on a supply and demand scale.
GO!Durban is the future of Durban. It is the realisation of a safer, sustainable and more liveable city for locals as well as visitors.
