Safety and Security plays a pivotal role in ensuring the protection of all commuters and staff, safeguarding of infrastructure and responding swiftly to any incidents that may occur across the network, twenty-four hours. This includes monitoring of GO!Durban stations, managing emergencies, preventing criminal activities and promoting a culture of safety, preparedness and trust.
High level surveillance technology is installed and integrated throughout the network. All stations are monitored via CCTV linked directly to the Metro Police Service Control Room, allowing for rapid detection and response to incidents.
Safety and security teams comprises of a dedicated Rapid Response Unit trained by the Metro Police Service, private security guards and all emergency services within the city.
