Safety and Security are top priorities for GO!Durban, with comprehensive measures to protect commuters. As of May 2025, all stations and buses are equipped with CCTV cameras and real-time monitoring systems to deter incidents. Security personnel patrol key routes and stations, while emergency response teams are on standby for rapid intervention. Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) contribute by providing automatic incident detection, alerting authorities to accidents or suspicious activities.
GO!Durban also collaborates with local law enforcement to ensure safety in high-risk areas like Umlazi and KwaMashu. Future plans include introducing panic buttons on buses and at stations, as well as expanding community safety programs to educate commuters on best practices.
